About Us

If you're aged between 19 and 65, live in Gloucester and are looking for work or are facing the prospect of redundancy from a Gloucestershire business and would like to know more about your options then we can help.

Gloucester Works offers you one to one support and advice to help you to achieve the skills and meet the employers to find the job that is right for you!

Gloucester Works will find out what you want to do and help you to remove the barriers that prevent you from achieving your true potential through accessible and enjoyable training that is individually tailored to suit your needs, ability and aspirations.

Gloucester Works is designed to enable local workers to take advantage of any job opportunities created by the ongoing investment in the city of Gloucester. We offer free training opportunities for local people to help them to achieve the qualifications and skills they need to move into long-term employment.

In addition the Gloucester Works team is working closely with local employers on your behalf to understand what kind of staff they need to ensure you have the skills required to get into those jobs.

The plan is funded by major contributions from the Skills Funding Agency, via its European Social Fund (ESF) programme and the South West Regional Development Agency, as well as other partners in the project.

We will offer you...
 • A personal action programme to help identify your current skills, what you want to do and how you can get there
 • Free training and qualifications to help you get into employment
 • Support to identify childcare and transport options while you are working
 • Links to real jobs in Gloucester, for example in the Quays, Business Parks and throughout the City through the Jobs Bank
 • Work trials and guaranteed interviews when you're job ready
 • Ongoing support and further training to enable you to progress when you're in employment
 • Redundancy support and advice on your next options
